David Murathe has claimed that the Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i is the current Prime Minister in reality.
On an interview with K24 TV, Murathe said that the fact that he is the person that sits with the ministers and cleans any mess makes him a de facto Prime Minister.
The former vice-chair said that Matiang'i is qualified to be a political ruler in 2022. Murathe compared the former education CS to the late minister Michuki, terming him to be a no-nonsense man.
"Currently Matiangi is the de facto Prime Minister...He is very firm and fits the bill. He is a Michuki and is a no-nonsense person." Murathe said.
Politics on who will be the next Prime Minister if the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) happen to be implemented has been the talk of each day, Murathe being among leaders suggesting President Uhuru is fit for the seat.
On the other hand, Murathe dismissed claims that the implementation of the BBI will consume Sh10 billion taxpayers money, terming it mere propaganda.
He, however, confirmed that the promise from President Uhuru of making the BBI report available to the public is being actualized.
"The promise by the President to make the BBI report available is being actualized. They will continue to have forums but there will be no Sh10 billion. Those stories are not true." He said
