Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga has questioned the US' hostility towards Iran over the development of nuclear weapons.
Iran has been on the receiving end from the United States with President Donald Trump announcing that he's monitoring the quest to violate nuclear weapons agreement.
The US on Friday killed Gen Qassem Soleimani, a top Iranian commander who was in charge of Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Mutunga wonders why Iran is being limited in testing her capabilities on nuclear weapons strengths.
"As is well known, the conflict is taking place around the nuclear capabilities that Iran is developing. Why should not this country, just like others, have the right to pursue these capabilities, up to and including becoming a nuclear military power?”
On Sunday, Iran announced plans to violate nuclear weapons agreement with the US which was signed by former President Barrack Obama.
"The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has in a statement announced its fifth and final step in reducing Iran's commitments under the JCPOA," a state TV broadcaster said, using an acronym for the deal.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran no longer faces any limitations in operations."
