Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has elicited a political debate having divorced his ODM party for Deputy President William Ruto.
But how much do we know about him? Well, the deputy county chief is a lawyer by profession and he holds a directorate degree from William Mitchell College of Law in Minnesota USA, Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and a Bachelor degree in Law from the University Of Nairobi.
He went to the USA in 1997 with his family and according to him, the DP William Ruto helped him find the ticket as a friend.
He lived in the USA for 12 years and came back to Kenya in the year 2009He joined the Kenyan Political arena in 2013, four years later after coming back to Kenya. He was jointly elected with Governor James Ongwae under the ODM ticket. However, later decamped ODM and joined Ruto's camp.
He is is a marketer with 21 years of extensive experience both in Kenya and America. He is also a farmer who runs a greenhouse and rears cattle.
He is a Christian worshipping in Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA).
He has a luxurious bungalow at Tendere village. Inside the house, there is a guest house, conference hall, outdoors there is a garden, a swimming pool that is under maintenance now and his personal airstrip.
