One family from Manyatta village in Mwala sub-county have slept in the cold after their house was razed down by fire on Tuesday evening.
Patrick Muema said he was unable to salvage anything during the fierce fire.
"I saw the window curtain on fire and while putting it out, another fire started at the seats and spread out to the rest of the house. It was so fierce that it was uncontrollable, we could not save anything from the house," said Muema.
He said that the source of the fire is still unknown noting that together with neighbours, they were able to put out the fire.
"At last, we were able to put it out with the help of neighbours but things like bedding, mattresses seats and other things were destroyed in the fire," he said.
Mbiuni chief David Mutuku confirmed the incident.
He said that by the time he arrived at the home, the fire had already been put out.
"When I got there, the fire had been put out but the damage was visible, the roof had fallen due to the fire and property of unknown worth destroyed," said Mutuku.
The family is now requesting for help from well-wishers for them to get back on their feet.
