Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho on Thursday left President Uhuru Kenyatta in stitches when he narrated a story of a gullible man who almost made his friend's eyes popped out of their sockets after he made a peculiar request.
In his story, Joho said that there are three communities in the country which are Kikuyu, Luo and others to mean the rest of the population.
He narrated the story of three men from the three groups who were asked to make choices so that their friends are rewarded in double.
The Luo requested for a Mercedes Benz and the friends got two, a Kikuyu asked for one million and the friends got two, adding that they shared the amount later. Interestingly, his friends requested for one of his eyes to be removed so that the friend’s also loses both eyes. Uhuru was left in stitches as the governor narrated the story.
"Honesty there are three tribes. I don't know if it is okay I say communities or I mention the names you will understand. There are three communities, Kikuyu, Luo and the rest of us. One day we were asked come over. What you will ask for your friend will receive twice. A Luo entered and said I want a Mercedez Benz. His friend was given two of them. The Kikuyu man was to go in next. He said , my friend when I enter I will ask and what I get you will be given twice and we will share. He then said give me one million and the friend was given two million. They got three million and shared 1.5 million each. My friend then entered the room and he asked himself what I get my friend will get twice. Sir, I ask that you remove my eyes from their sockets.
