Thirdway Alliance Secretary-General Fred Okango has laughed off claims by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua that he was threatened by Deputy President William Ruto at State House.
Speaking on Tuesday during an interview on K24, Okango said he is not surprised by Mutua's claims against Ruto, National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale, and his Senate counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen.
Okango said he is not ready to buy the idea that the DP can threaten someone like Mutua.
"For Mutua to appear on all the newspapers he had to be comical and we should expect more from him," he said.
In a statement on Monday, Mutua said he felt threatened after Ruto allegedly told him he will crush him.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader on Monday recorded a statement at the Kilimani police station over the said threats.
"I was petrified not only by the words uttered by the DP Ruto but by the intensity of his eyes and angry tone of voice,"Mutua said.
Both Murkomen and Duale have rubbished Governor Mutua's claims. However, the DP is yet to issue an official statement on the allegations.
