In a petition to the clerk of the National Assembly, Dr Mbae notes that those who are supposed to benefit with the fund are not benefiting since the money has not reflected in their cards.

The petition also seeks to ensure that there is a continuous registration and updates on the exact number of the elderly, and other vulnerable groups in society.

According to Dr Mbae, through the petition, the MPs will be required to come up with legislation to ensure that every financial year, there is money for NHIF the vulnerable groups.

He says this will help address the challenge where they have been using the money from cash transfer to cater for medical expenses.

“I have already written a petition to the clerk of the National assembly seeking that the national government releases the fund to the NHIF for the elderly, orphans and vulnerable children as well as persons living with disability,” said Mbae.
