Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko has issued an official statement after the tragedy at Precious Talent School.

In a long post on Facebook on Monday, Sonko sent his condolence message to the entire school for the loss of seven pupils. 

"I am deeply saddened by the news of the accident that occurred this morning at the Precious Talent School in Ngando area, Nairobi following the collapse of a building housing several classrooms that resulted in the death of seven pupils and the injury of many others," said Sonko.

The Monday morning accident leftover 60 other pupils nursing injuries at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

Following the tragic accident, Sonko assured Nairobians that he will do everything in his power to make sure impunity in various ministries are dealt with accordingly. 

He stated that he had disbanded the Nairobi City-County Planning Department, which had been going against the Physical Planning Act and zoning regulations. 

The City boss also revealed that he will work with the Ministry of Education, which is tasked with the inspection and approval of primary and secondary schools to make sure students don't die due to negligence. 

He noted that any building constructed or still under construction without proper approval will be brought down, and officials found to have violated the law punished. 

"As a government, we shall also pursue the prosecution of any official who shall be found culpable in these violations that have continued to cost a human life, while endangering many more lives," he said.

The flashy politician assured parents and the entire community that her will help in burying the death pupils, helping the injured and also constriction of the school so that learning continues.
