A family in Kinamba estate along the Naivasha-Kirima road in Naivasha has been left in shock after they found a 16-year-old boy dead.
The boy with disabilities was on Thursday found dead by his parents while on his wheelchair.
Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru who confirmed the incident said they have launched investigations into the incident to establish what led to the death of the minor.
Reports indicate that the boy might have been accidentally strangled by a piece of cloth that was being used to cover him.
The parents of the minor who were working in a nearby farm were shocked to find their son dead on the wheelchair.
Waweru said the body has been taken to the mortuary for a post mortem to determine the cause of death.
“At the moment we are not taking anything to chance and we are waiting for a post mortem report before taking the next course of action,” said the OCPD.
Amos Mbuthia, an elder in the village, said the parents reported the matter at the police station after they found the boy dead adding that he suspects the death was an accident.
“The boy who has been on a wheelchair all his life could have fallen and in the process the cloth strangled him,” said Mbuthia.
