An ODM politician in Kisii has revealed that the meeting between eight leaders from Gusii community with Raila Odinga on Wednesday was all about matters to do with the Gusii community.

Kisii Woman Representative Janet Ong'era revealed that the meeting was only meant to discuss matters relating to the Abagusii community.

"My colleagues and I met the former Prime Minister at his Capitol Hill office to discuss Gusii community matters and nothing to do with 2022 polls. As leaders, we are focused to represent the community well both at the county and national governments level," she said as reported by Minto FM.  

She also revealed that the leaders also discussed the current political mood in the country.

Ms Ong'era dismissed claims that the leaders are seeking political relevance by meeting Raila adding that it is important for every leader to follow the footsteps of Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta in their call for unity.

"We need to embrace peace, unity and harmony as leaders irrespective of the political opinions that we have," she added. 

The leaders who met Raila include; Kisii County Governor James Ongwae and Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama, Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri , Jimmy Angwenyi , Richard Onyonka, Samuel Arama and Simba Arati
