Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho is yet to name his new cabinet after the expiry of the former CECs terms in office. It is two months since the team left office but the county boss has remained silent on the same.
The decision of the governor has caused anxiety in his administration since he had promised to name the new cabinet as soon as possible.
However, he said that he will evaluate the performance of the CECs before deciding what to do next.
“I have evaluated what each CEC has achieved in the past two years. There are some who have done well and others whose work is wanting. In three to four days, I will make a decision on who stays and who goes,” Joho said then.
Residents and civil society have been urging the second county boss to name the new cabinet. The governor has maintained that he will continue to deliver on his promises even as he operates without the cabinet.
It is reported that the governor wants to retain some of the officers after the audit report. Joho, also Deputy ODM leader, has not formally communicated why he has taken long to name the cabinet.
Several officers are scouting for the positions as Joho looks around for a formidable team to help him pursue his agenda.
