Thousands of mourners from different walks of life arrived at the home of the deceased to give her a befitting send-off after she succumbed to cancer.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy William Ruto, and ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga were among those who attended the burial of the county boss.

In his message of tribute, President Kenyatta described Laboso as a trailblazer of women leadership.

He said that until her demise, the governor always wanted the best for the country and that she was ready to do anything to win the hearts of the people.

Uhuru said that Laboso never chest-thumbed herself amid all these adversities.

“She achieved a lot as an MP, deputy speaker, and governor, but she never thumped her chest. She was always humble and always wanted Kenya to be a great country,” he said, as quoted by Standard.

The President also said that his government is committed in the war against cancer. He said the state has plans to set up cancer centres across the country to ensure the disease is curbed.

He further said that he is concerned with the increased number of cancer patients across the country.
