Mr Gachoka appeared to suggest that the disbandment was a blemish on the head of state's legacy as he does his second and final term

"Uhuru @StateHouseKenya how can we truly defend you or a legacy with this headlines every now & then @AMB_A_Mohammed guys pull your socks up. @JeniferShamalla @ShazieKe @DonaldBKipkorir @ahmednasirlaw, " Tony Gachoka's tweet read.

The Football Federation of Kenya (FKF) announced the news on Tuesday saying that its coffers had worn thin.

The news will come as huge blow to members of the Starlet's team who had pulled off a series of spectacular displays in their Tokyo Japan 2020 Olympics.

They were set to slug it out with Zambia in the coming weeks after beating Ghana.

Officials of the national womens football team have long decried the inadequate support that they have been receiving from the Ministry of Sports led by Abassador Amina Mohamed.

Getting the team ready for the qualifiers requires a lot of money.

The government through the Ministry of Sports had not yet responded to the announcement by FKF.
