ODM leader Raila Odinga has said that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) is unstoppable. Speaking at the Mama Ngina Waterfront on Saturday, Raila said that the adoption of BBI marks the beginning of a new era.
The African Union Special Envoy said that time has come for all leaders to unite and back the report. He reminded leaders from all factions that they must stand up and fight for change. The opposition leader insisted that there is need for Kenyans to speak in one voice.
"The BBI train has left the station, we must be iron like a lion in Zion," he said.
Raila said the report will address different issues including land reforms, election malpractices, corruption among others. He said that there is need to put idle land into good use, adding that the government must ensure that Kenyans are protected from different challenges.
"Land is a factor of production. You need land to create wealth. We will not allow land to sit idle," he said.
The Mombasa BBI meeting comes after the allies of Deputy President William Ruto changed tune on the report. They have now affirmed that they will attend all rallies organised to popularise the report.
