Education minister Prof George Magoha released the results on Monday shortly after handing over a report to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Steve Ogolla, an advocate of the High Court, said that he was 'shocked' because there is also an ongoing national examination across the country.

Currently, students are sitting for the Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE), the reason why Ogolla was rooting for a little delay.

"I'M SHOCKED to learn that KCPE 2019 results are out, right in the middle of another important exam. Are we that efficient? I didn't think we have such capacity. Magoha is a curious man," he tweeted.

Prof Magoha said candidates will know their Secondary schools they are bound to join in the next two weeks, adding that all students will progress to the next level.

"I assure all candidates that by December they will know which schools they will go to," he said.

The CS said the selection will be fair, transparent and fast. He thanked the KNEC team for the expedited marking of papers.

"Parents will have enough time to prepare their children for highschool re-entry. They won't spend all the money on food during Christmas," he said.

The top candidate scored 440 marks of the possible 500. At least 56 teachers will be dragged to court for allegedly aiding cheating.
