Ezekiel Otieno Opondo who sat for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education at Kotetni primary school in Kisumu last year and scored 329 marks out of possible 500 total marks lauded the governor for holding his hands when in need.

While speaking to the media on Tuesday Otieno promised to work hard, adding that he will never let his sponsors down after showing him kindness.

“I will not disappoint you. I am going to make my dream come true,” said Otieno.

He revealed that he would want to become a doctor after school.

His uncle Charles Ayieko who has been hosting him since standard one also lauded Governor Nyong’o for his kind heart, encouraging him to extend the kindness to other people as well.

“I have stayed with this boy since class one and when he did his exams he passed however, I could not raise the money as I am just a tuk-tuk driver,” said Charles Ayieko.

Ayieko did not forget to express his gratitude towards the Lakeside city vernacular radio station dubbed Sky FM, through which Governor Nyong’o heard the news about the orphan in need of school fees before he rushed to offer assistance.
