The County Government of Uasin Gishu has given a green light for the establishment of Ziwa Level 5 Hospital in the county.
Speaking On Thursday at County's headquarters after signing a contract worth Sh800 million with Centurion Engineers and Builders Limited, the County Executive for health, Evelyn Rotich said the project was meant to help its residents.
“We at the department of health services will continue to discharge our mandate in providing quality health services to our residents at all times. The construction of the level five hospital is expected to address the demand of health care services to 1.2 million people in Uasin Gishu County" said CEC Rotich as recorded in Uasin Gishu County Facebook Page.
Rotich who urged the contractors to work in speed to ensure the facility becomes functional in time said that the facility will have 350 beds containing an Ultra-modern outpatient and inpatient, maternity and pharmacy units.
Edwin Bett,the County Secretary, urged the contractors to ensure they maintain standards while erecting the building so that it can serve the residents for long.
On his part, acting Health Chief Officer,Kenneth Mbeka promised to collaborate with the contractors to ensure the project is finished on time.
Ziwa level 5 Hospital is expected to be functional before next general election.
