Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah has accused Interior Principal Secretary Dr Karanja Kibicho of getting drunk with power, despite the fact that he's a mere civil servant.
On Friday, Dr Kibicho accused DP William Ruto and his Tanga Tanga brigade of causing confusions within Mt Kenya region. He insisted that President Uhuru Kenyatta is still in charge.
A charged Dr Kibicho also accused Dr Ruto of launching non existing projects, adding that President Uhuru Kenyatta had bestowed power to him and Dr Fred Matiang'i to be in charge of projects.
"As government workers, we know where our power comes from. The president supports us. That's why we are pushing these things. You cannot reap what you did not sow. Stop lying to our people that you're bringing development, it's Uhuru who is doing that," he said in reference to the DP.
But at Runyenjes on Saturday, Mr Ichung'wah, who accompanied DP William Ruto to the Embu region, accused Kibicho of chest thumping, adding that the power he has was donated by Kenyans.
According to him, Kibicho has no powers to intimidate DP Ruto and Tanga Tanga team from touring the expansive Mt Kenya region, adding that it's people who gave Uhuru and Ruto mandate.
"Yesterday I heard someone you've given Principal Secretary job in this government chest thumping that he's powerful. I want to tell him that my friend, don't get drunk with that power.
"That power belongs to the people of Kenya, not to you. It's this people who gave Uhuru and Ruto that power to traverse this country. Stop chest thumping," he said.
Dr Ruto's team has often accused Kibicho of harassment. Recently, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro claimed the powerful PS had instructed police to arrest him.
Further, Kandara MP Alice Wahome said Kibicho had planned a meeting in a businessman's house where plot to eliminate her and Nyoro was discussed.
