Former Jubilee Vice-chair David Murathe maintains that no one speaks for President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In an interview in K24 TV on Sunday, Murathe said that the President is not deaf, therefore, whenever he want to say something, he always speaks it out.
"The president has a voice and he can speak for himself," Murathe said.
The question on who represents the Uhuru when he wants to talk popped out following the current face off between DP Ruto and MP over who should represent the president.
When Kieni MP Kanini Kega attended Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua mother’s burial, he claimed that he had been sent by Uhuru to deliver Sh500,000 something that was not taken lightly by Deputy President William Ruto.
“I happened to meet with the president at the Coast and he said since he would not be able to attend the funeral, I should convey his condolences. He also sent me to bring Sh500,000 as his financial contribution and I have topped that up with Sh100,000,” Kega said.
However, in a rejoinder seemingly informed by Kega's pronouncement, DP Ruto said that “You all know that there is only one person in Kenya who was sworn in to deputise the president. And I will do that very diligently. Everybody should do their job."
