The second command rubbished the article published on the Standard Titled" Uhuru snubs Ruto again".  Ruto said that the media house was paid to spoil his name.

“Kenyans should ignore this choreographed, paid-for propaganda nonsense. I was in the office the whole day never in Mombasa,” he tweeted.

The remarks come amid alleged fallout with President Kenyatta ahead of 2022. Ruto has maintained that the head of state has no plans to cling to power as alleged.

Speaking at Hiriga village in Nyeri County during the burial of Martha Kirigo, the mother to Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, Ruto said Uhuru will not stay in office after the end of his tenure in office.

“For clarity, the party has no scheme or plan to change the constitution with the intent to take Kenya back to the dark days to have leadership concentrated in one corner of this country," he said.

Ruto has been against countrywide tours to popularize the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report. He has been terming the process a waste of public resources. The DP has also cautioned the security agencies against disobeying court orders in the wake of Lawyer Miguna Miguna's return.
