The Tanzanian government has issued a stand on the nationality of Diamond and Zari Hassan's children.
The two celebrities who broke up last year had two children born out of their four-year-old relationship.
After the breakup, Zari relocated to South Africa where she runs her businesses.
The Ministry of Immigration in Tanzania through Ally Mtanda noted that both Tiffah and Nillan were Tanzanian by virtue of Diamond's nationality. He, nonetheless, added that the children also held the citizenship of South Africa.
“Zari said all her kids are South African, she is right because she lives there. With that said, her children become South African automatically. However, the kids are also Tanzanians because their dad is Tanzanian. In short, they have dual citizenship because the law allows them to have two passports at the same time.” Ally stated.
Diamond and Zari parted ways over allegations of infidelity. Zari accused Diamond of cheating on her on several occasions. Zari went with the kids after the breakup.
Zari is a Ugandan socialite-cum-business lady who is based in South Africa.
Shortly after their breakup, Diamond got engaged to Kenyan musician-cum-radio presenter Tanasha Donna. They have a son.
