Detectives investigating Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino's shooting case have launched a manhunt for a lady he was with when the incident happened at B-club in Kilimani area on Friday morning.
In a video clip which went viral, a man believed to be Babu Owino is seen shooting at an entertainment joint.
Besides him is an unidentified woman whose image is not clearly captured in CCTV footage.
"From the available CCTV clips, we believe the woman has crucial information on what transpired on that night,” said an investigator, as quoted by the Standard.
During the incident, a DJ at the club who has since been identified as Felix Orinda alias Dj Evolve was shot and is fighting for his life at a hospital in Nairobi.
The youthful lawmaker is expected in court on Monday after spending the entire week at Kilimani and Gigiri police stations.
His lawyers led by Cliff Ombeta have confirmed that the police have taken DNA samples, an indication that the investigations are at the peak.
"We then went to Kilimani Police Station, where a statement was recorded on the fresh findings of the search before we proceeded to the Government Chemist for a DNA test," Mr Ombeta told the Daily Nation.
