A section of MCAs is against the plot to oust the first-term governor while the rest wants him to leave the office with immediate effect over allegations that he misappropriated Sh.357 million belonging to the county government of Nairobi alongside other officials from his government.

Led by Majority Leader Charles Thuo, leaders opposed to the plan affirmed that the leadership of the county is not facing a crisis as alluded. He affirmed that everything is working in a normal manner.

"The issue of impeachment is neither here or there. The law is very clear on impeachment. No one has stopped anyone from the process and If they think they have numbers they should bring and we shall deal with it like any other motion," Thuo said.

Majority whip June Ndegwa backed his sentiments saying the motion to impeach the governor is not necessary.

He also said that time has come for the leaders from the region to speak in one voice for the sake of better service delivery rather than pushing to impeach Sonko for no good course.

The governor has maintained that he is innocent while attributing his woes to his political rivals.
