Deputy President William Ruto has eulogized Mama Adelaide, wife to former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale.
Ruto remembered Mama Adelaide as an all round mother. In a tweet on Thursday, DP Ruto said that Mama Adelaide championed for education and Christianity.
''She was empathetic, supportive, loving and a disciplinarian. Mama Adelaide will be remembered for her enduring belief in education besides upholding strong Christian values. Our thoughts are with the family, relatives, and friends. Rest In Peace,'' said DP Ruto.
The deputy president attended Mama Adelaide's requiem mass at Malinya grounds, Kakamega County.
Mama Adelaide passed away on Saturday, 5, October morning.
The former Kakamega senator came out through his twitter account to reveal that his wife was no more.
In his message, Boni Khalwale pointed out that his wife got diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2003.
Fortunately, he noted that she got treated and she recovered. However, this year, she got sick of several Myeloma.
During the time of her death, Boni Khalwale said that chemotherapy had confirmed that her blood and bone marrow were all cured.
In his message, Khalwale remembered Mama Adelaide as his friend and wife.
Mama Adelaide will be buried at her home in Malinya, Kakamega County on October 12, 2019.
Cancer has taken the lives of many prominent Kenyans this year.
