Leading politicians in the country are one and the same thing, political analyst Dennis Anyonka has said.
The commentator says that the political elite in the country stand for the same thing, even though they might appear different in terms of political stands and the tactics they employ.
Dennis Anyonka observes that politicians are all to blame for the nation's current woes, given that they have all been around for a long time enough to solve them, but have actually contributed to some.
He, therefore, warned Kenyans against expecting a saviour from among the political class, especially in the 2022 general elections, where a majority have expressed interest in the presidency.
"Most of these leaders; Raila (Odinga), Uhuru (Kenyatta), Ruto (William), Kalonzo (Musyoka) and Mudavadi (Musalia) have all been in governance, what new will they do? (wote wamekuwa in governance, ni yapi watafanya sasa mapya?)," he posed in an interview on Radio Maisha on Monday.
The commentator urged Kenyans to wisely pick their leaders if they are to benefit afterwards, cautioning that another mistake will land them in lamentations as is the case now.
Anyonka, also a lawyer, warned Kenyans against being fooled using handouts, further advising them to keenly peruse through manifesto before making a choice.
"We will have a lot of problems if we don't think. Let's look at the practicality of the manifesto. Let us not be just excited unimplementable manifesto. (Tuangalie practically ya manifesto, let's not be just excited na manifesto zisizoweza kufanywa)," he added.
In the list, Kalonzo, Ruto and Mudavadi have declared presidential interest, while ODM leader Raila remains silent on his plans.
