Magoha on Monday launched a door-to-door campaign to trace students yet to report to Form 1 to actualise the 100 per cent transition.

This is after details emerged that over 40 per cent of the candidates have not reported to the school.

Thirdway Alliance Secretary General Fredrick Okang'o said he was proud of what Magoha was doing, and praised him as one of the best cabinet secretaries in the country.

"I like what Education CS Magoha is doing. He is one of the NO nonsense CS in President Uhuru's government. No child should remain at home for lack of school fees. He is on a door to door visit to ensure 100% transition is achieved," he tweeted.

On his part, former Mukurwe-ini MP described the CS as a results-oriented person who has left an indelible mark in all institutions he has served.

"As Chairman KNEC, Prof George Magoha oversaw radical Transformation of national exams. As Cabinet Secretary, his crusade for 100% transition to High Schools brings most needed relief to the needy. Kudos Waziri," he said.

Kabando further observed that high fees charged by boarding schools were the main challenge to the 100 per cent transition, saying there was a need for a directive to ensure every student joins his school of admission.

"But the 100% transition won’t happen smoothly because of the high fees charged in high schools. A directive is necessary for slots to be reserved in all schools of admission, otherwise nearby day schools won’t manage," the former legislator added.
