Air Force Commander Major General Francis Ogolla on Wednesday gifted a 3-year-old boy with a 15-minute flight at Moi Air Base in Nairobi.
Master Elias Muthomi has been showcasing exeptional memory on matters related to Kenya Defense Forces despite his tender age, a matter which precipitated to the special invitation.
At his age, he has a high memory of Military machinery especially helicopters and jet fighters. His story has been featured by several media such as the Daily Nation, Kameme TV and KBC.
Elias has memorized images of Military Helicopters like the MD 500 helicopter, Sikorsky helicopter, Apache helicopter among many others.
Due to his interest in Military Aircrafts, the Commander KAF facilitated his visit to MAB in order for him to view and interact with the planes in real life.
During the visit, Elias who was accompanied by his parents (Mr. Moses Githonga and Mrs. Monica Wambui) paid a courtesy call to the Commander KAF’s Office where the Commander interacted with him and motivated his parents to maintain his focus in Aviation.
There after Elias was taken through a display of various aircraft at the Base and his parents were informed of career opportunities at KAF.
The climax of the visit was when Elias had a flight experience; he was taken for a 15-minute flight aboard a Huey helicopter.
Elias was delighted and his parents expressed their gratitude to the Commander KAF for offering Elias an opportunity of his life time.
The visit was in line with military doctrines which encourages nurturing of talents among interested parties. In future, he could get training if he intends to join military.
Kenya Air Force plays an integral role in safeguarding the country's air space. It also aides ground forces through airstrikes while tackling enemies.
