Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) politicians in Kilifi county have come up with a new plot, which they seek to use to silence the vocal Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa in the region.
Formerly an ODM member, Jumwa has since decamped to the ruling Jubilee Party, judging by her closeness to Deputy President William Ruto, though yet to exit ODM.
Led by Magarini MP Michael Kingi, the group says that it will be hanging up against the firebrand politician to ensure that she does not have a big say in Kilifi politics.
Other members of the group include Jumwa's predecessor Willy Mtengo, Owen Baya (Kilifi North) and Philip Charo, who were quoted by the Star terming her an insultive and combative politician.
They have said that ODM's win in the Ganda Ward race, where Jumwa supported the runners up Abdul Omar, is proof that she has lost her political footing in the region.
Speaking before embarking on a journey to celebrate Reuben Katana's win on Saturday, Kingi also accused Ruto of using the MP in a bid to control Kilifi politics.
''The people of Kilifi County will decide on their politics, if they think they can use money to change the political direction they will not succeed," he said as quoted by the Star.
The politicians said that they can reconsider their move to punish Jumwa should she repent.
