A postmortem on the bodies of Joyce Syombua, 31, and her two children, Shanice Maua, 10, and Prince Michael 5, was not done on Tuesday as it had been planned.
The exercise which was to be carried out at the Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary was pushed ahead to allow the detectives enough time to carry out their investigations into the murder of the three.
According to the Central Region Senior Deputy Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Peter Mailanyi, more arrests are expected to be made in connection to the case.
“We believe there are other suspects still at large who are involved and police need to trace and arrest them,” Mailanyi said as quoted by Citizen Digital.
Major Peter Mugure, the husband to the late Joyce, is being held as the main suspect in the murder of the three.
He was arraigned in court on Tuesday where the police asked the court to detain him for 21 days as more investigations are being done.
He was detained at Nanyuki Police Station.
His co-accused will also be held by the police to allow for investigations but in a different station.
Collins Pamba was remanded at Naromoru Police Station.
