Led by Amos Kiprono, the enumerators said despite being promised that they will be paid, nothing has been done yet.

"As enumerators from Uasin Gishu we are really disappointed with the government. Despite them promising to pay us in two weeks time, up-to now we have received nothing. Why are they doing this to us yet we worked for them?" Kiprono posed.

The enumerators addressed the press in Eldoret town after holding a peaceful demonstration on Tuesday, where they called on relevant authorities to facilitate their payment.

They said their colleagues in other regions have been paid, adding that they will continue demonstrating until they receive their payment.

"It is sad that Elgeyo and Nandi county enumerators have already been paid, why are we discriminated upon? We will continue with our demonstration until we are paid our dues," added Kiprono.

He claimed over 3,000 enumerators from Uasin Gishu have not been paid.

Efforts to reach Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdirisack Jaldesa was futile.
