Nominated Member of Parliament David Ole Sankok has said the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga will come to an end today.
Speaking during an interview on K24, Sankok said the release of the BBI report will mark the end of Odinga's handshake with President Kenyatta.
He further noted that the BBI report will not divide the Jubilee party, adding that the governing outfit is united.
"Jubilee is united more than ever. Today is the official death of handshake and birth of BBI," he said during an interview on K24 on Tuesday morning.
However, in a quick rejoinder, Kisumu Central lawmaker Fred Ouda bashed Sankok and some of his colleagues in Jubilee, for opposing a document whose content they have not seen.
Speaking on the same show, he termed Sankok and his allies opposed to the Uhuru-backed initiative as the "opposition government in parliament".
"Those opposing BBI, do not even know why they are opposing it! Sankok and his team are the opposition government in Parliament," he said.
Sankok is among a section of leaders who have poured cold water on the initiative, which seeks to reunite Kenyans and come up with an all-inclusive leadership system.
