A day after Royal Media Services journalist Victor Kinuthia was subjected to online ridicule, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro who happened to be the subject of Kinuthia's report has sent him a heartwarming message.
Speaking to Citizen TV on NewsNight show hosted by Hussein Mohammed on Tuesday, Nyoro said Kinuthia is actually one of the best vernacular reporter for Inooro TV, Inooro FM and the Royal Media Services at large.
"I want to tell Victor that he is one of the best vernacular reporters especially on Inooro," he said during the interview.
He bashed Kenyans for trolling Kinuthia especially on Twitter over his poor command of English when he was covering the event, adding that his mother tongue affects his command of English as well, but he doesn't blame himself for that.
According to the footage, Kinuthia was seemingly tensed up and probably unready for the report, due to the fact that the scene was chaotic and it was his first live reporting in English.
Nyoro was backed by Hussein Mohammed who said it was wrong for Kenyans to ridicule the young fellow, adding that he is a brilliant reporter and the Royal Media Services is very proud of him.
Through a Facebook post, Kinuthia explained the encounter of the online ridicule saying he nearly quit the job when he found himself trending all over.
He, however, noted that he received calls from his bosses, colleagues and friends who consoled and encouraged him.
