Popular Kenyan socialite cum business lady Huddah Monroe has opened up on the abuse that she went through in the hands of her stepfather while she was still a child.
According to the outspoken socialite, her stepfather was extremely violent not only to her but also to her mother.
Huddah went ahead to point out that the psychological torture she went through while living with her stepfather was one of the reasons why she disliked men.
"Like my stepdad used to beat...my mom like crazy. I can never unsee it! I hated men soooo much, I can’t believe I’m so addicted to them right now. I still don’t think I can live with a man in the same house! Scary movie!" Huddah stated as quoted by Kiss 100.
The abusive and violent upbringing was nonetheless not the only thing that Huddah had to deal with while growing up. She claimed none of their neighbours wanted to be associated with her family as she was poor.
"Also, nobody liked us, no one wanted to be associated with us coz we were poor and they’d donate their shoes and clothes to us & leave, so we didn’t have anyone at all to look at and even wish to be like one day! LOL! Long story short, all I wanna say is your past doesn’t determine your future! Your past is what happened to you it’s up to you to make your present what you ever envisioned! You deserve everything great and more! And never feel bad for it!" Huddah's message read as highlighted by Kiss 100.
