Ibeno location chief Christopher Onwong'a confirmed the incident saying the deceased John Ombworo consumed poison inside his house and died before he could be taken to hospital.

"The deceased chased his wife from home two weeks ago accusing her of seeing other men outside the wedlock. His young brother found him lying on the floor in pain inside his house and raised alarm. As members of the public were waiting for a motorbike to rush him to the hospital he died before the motorbike could arrive," said  Onwong'a.

The administrator said he alerted police officers from Ibeno administration police post who arrived at the scene and collected the body.

"The body of Ombworo was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital morgue. Cases of suicide are at the peak and I urge residents to stop taking suicide as the last option when faced with difficulties in life," said the chief.

He also advised married women to be faithful to their men for the purpose of building strong marriages.

According to the chief, the deceased opted to commit suicide due to loneliness.
