Majority of us love and strive for long, voluminous, healthy and damage-free hair.
However, it can really be disheartening to see your hair have stunted growth, especially if having long, flowing hair is your dream.
If you're a victim of such and have no idea why you're nowhere close to reaching your hair goals, here are potential reasons why that might be the case:
1. Stress
High levels of stress is detrimental to your hair and can contribute to you losing your hair.
When you're stressed, a condition called Telogen effluvium is triggered in which large portion of your hair enters a resting phase, hence restricting growth.
However, if you manage your stress levels and get it under control, you might re-gain your hair. A better alternative is to live a stress free life!
2. Childbirth and breastfeeding
Though totally normal, postpartum and breastfeeding could be another reason your hair is falling out.
This is usually as a result of the hormonal imbalance after delivery, which usually starts after the first three months of child birth.
The good news is, it is a temporary phase and probably your hair will continue with it's normal growth after a while, mostly within six months.
3. Genetics
Sometimes the color, volume, length and texture of your hair is determined by your genes.
Genetics also plays a major role in determining the growth rate of your hair.
Therefore, you might be doing everything right as far as taking care of your hair is concerned but its growth is stunted. This could be because of hair gene inherited from your family.
