Speaking on Tuesday during an event at Ang’ata Rongai village, Lesuuda said that women play a pivotal role in the leadership of this country, adding that they should not be locked out of opportunities in government.

The lawmaker said that the women representative seat is critical just like any other.

“We all have roles that we play, if anything the Woman Rep seat has a sunset period of 20 years. We have just done ten of them and the reason why it was created in our Constitution was to give women an opportunity to show their prowess in leadership,” she said, as quoted Standard.

The legislator unveiled a health center within his background.  During the meeting, she affirmed her commitment to changing the lives of the local residents.

She appealed to the electorate to back her leadership as she seeks to leave a legacy during her first term in the position.  The residents welcomed the establishment of the health facility.

They noted that the unveiling of the facility will transform the lives. Some of them lamented how they used to trek for miles to seek health services.

The residents further appealed to the government to ensure the facility has medical and staff services.
