Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has stated that he does not regret attending Deputy President William Ruto's functions.
Maangi while speaking on Friday morning during an interview at Egesa FM, said DP Ruto is a national leader who must not be ignored.
He said despite him being in a different political outfit with DP Ruto, he has a right to attend functions presided over by DP Ruto.
"I have heard people criticizing me for turning up to welcome DP Ruto when he toured Nyamira County on Monday. I will not succumb to unnecessary criticism and I have no regrets for attending DP Ruto's functions," he stated.
Maangi stated that leaders should shun politics based on political parties. The vocal politician vowed to continue working with all leaders irrespective of their political affiliations.
"I have no plans to stop working with leaders from Jubilee Party including DP Ruto himself. This is not the time for politics based on political parties but time to serve the people. 2022 will come we talk politics," added Maangi.
He warned critics against taking advantage of his close association with DP Ruto to spread falsehood arguing that no one will choose for him who he should work with.
