Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to treat his supporters well.
Sudi who on Friday took to his Facebook account while reacting to Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko's arrests urged President Uhuru to ensure there is fairness and justice for all Kenyans.
According to Sudi,Sonko's woes were politically instigated and Uhuru has powers to bring 'things to order'.
''I stand with Sonko despite what he is going through now. I request you Mr. President Uhuru Kenyatta, kindly stop eating your children. Stop eating your staunch supporters who sacrificed a lot for you to get that seat. Once again request please stop it,'' read Sudi's post.
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who was among the leaders to react to the arrest maintained that Sonko was innocent until proven guilty.
He further held that Sonko is being fought politically.
''Governor Sonko enjoys his constitutional right to be presumed innocent till proved guilty. He is my friend and I wish him well as he proves his innocence. You don’t run away from friends. I also know many governors; Mombasa, Machakos, Siaya... who are protected coz they are politically correct,'' Murkomen held on Friday.
Sonko who is expected to be arraigned in court has promised to fight back through legal means and prove his innocence.
"I want to confidently state from the onset that I am more than ready for the lawful course that will help us know the truth. As your leader, and an elected governor, l believe in total accountability, especially when it comes to the management of public resources," Sonko's statement read in part.
