Deputy President William Ruto's strength and powers in President Uhuru Kenyatta's government are in the decline, political analyst Martin Andati claims.

He terms this the reason why the DP appears to be undergoing frustration, including the alleged recent incident where he was kicked out of his official Mombasa residence.

He says that some very influential persons, deeply set within the government could be out to frustrate the DP, which, according to him, appears to be succeeding so far.

As a result, he observes, the DP has been completely locked out to an extent that he is now criticising the government, like an activist, the government he helped form.

"We knew he would no longer be useful  after 2017 and that's why he is now lamenting and has become an activist. He has been used and dumped (Tulijua kazi yake itaisha after 2017 ndio maana sasa analialia maana amekuwa activist. Ametumiwa akatupwa )," he stated.

He also faulted the DP for questioning the funds being used in the forums being used to  popularise the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), which enjoys the backing of Uhuru.

For instance, the DP last week accused the proponents of the push, led by ODM leader Raila Odinga of misusing state funds, remarks Andati says should not come from an executive.

"He is in government, let him direct those questions at Uhuru not Raila (Yeye yuko kwa serikali, haya maneno anauliza  asiulize Raila, aulize Uhuru)," he added.
