It has emerged that Deputy President William Ruto’s allies have convened a meeting next week to counter the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
At least 123 members of parliament have confirmed that they will attend the meeting.
The lawmakers come from different regions including Coast region, the Rift Valley, South Nyanza, Mt Kenya, Northeastern, Eastern and Western. The two-day meeting is set to take place in Naivasha.
Soy MP Caleb Kositany has confirmed the plans to hold the meeting. He said that the leaders from different parts of the nation are expected to share their ideas before they decide the way forward.
“The retreat will bring all the Jubilee leaders from across the country and some of our other friends. The agenda is for us to agree on a harmonised memorandum capturing issues from our constituents," said the Soy MP
The lawmaker also said that the leaders are deliberating on different issues before the adoption of the recommendations of the report.
Speaking during an interview on NTV on Thursday from his Karen Home, Ruto said that he is not against the report.
He said that he is supporting the BBI report. He, however, warned leaders against politicizing the issue, adding that he has nothing against those behind the report.
