Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua has argued that residents of Central Kenya acknowledged president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto as their national leaders.
The legislator was speaking during a church function in Murang'a county on Sunday, an event attended by DP Ruto and leaders allied to him (William Ruto).
The video of Gachagua's speech was shared by Lemiso Sato Emmanuel in his Facebook page.
Gachagua began by noting that in the region, two 'bulls' that were 'recognized' included the president and his deputy only.
"Sisi your Excellency, hapa katika Central Kenya, tunatambua ndume wawili.Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta-president na deputy-William Ruto kwisha maneno! (Us here in Central Kenya, your Excellency, we recognize two 'bulls'.Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta-president and deputy-William Ruto and that's all)," argued Gachagua.
However, Gachagua in his speech proceeded to assert that the region would welcome all the visitors and leaders at any time and accord them the necessary reception that befitted them.
He further observed that the visiting leaders would be fed well and taken round the region.
"Wageni wengi woote wakuje watembee, wakule chakula (All the other visitors can come and walk around and eat food)," observed the legislator.
Nevertheless, the MP advised the visitors to respect the political views of the residents and their leaders and to avoid misbehaving while touring the region.
