Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho is under pressure to form a new Cabinet.
This is after the former cabinet was disbanded on November 12 following the expiry of the executives' contracts.
Joho had hinted that he will retain some of the executives from the previous cabinet whose dockets had displayed good performance.
On Tuesday, a section of Joho's supporters came out to defend the governor citing that the absence of the cabinet had not resulted in a crisis, therefore, called upon various stakeholders to be patient.
"Mombasa residents should give the governor time because he is doing his best to come up with the best team," Mombasa ODM chairman Mohamed Khatimy said.
The governor is reported to be weighing various factors before coming up with a new cabinet.
Joho asserted that he would put into consideration the performance of his previous cabinet when forming the next one.
“I have done an evaluation on what each CEC has achieved in the past two years. There are some who have done well and others are wanting. I was given a five-year mandate by voters and I have in turn to evaluate the performance of the people under my leadership. In three to four days, I will make a decision on who stays and who goes,” he said on November 12.
