Popular Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi has left many wondering if he is indeed a Kenyan or a Tanzanian.
This is after he responded to a Tanzanian blogger, Jalilu Zaid who had claimed that the comedian famous for producing parody videos was born in Tanzania in 1985.
“Eric Omondi is one of the biggest celebrity names synonymous to the comedy in Tanzania. Eric was born in Maneromango, Kisarawe, Pwani. Tanzania 985. He is currently living in Kenya where he is doing his comedy work. We as Tanzanians are proud of him for representing us,” Zaid's Instagram post reads.
Surprisingly, Eric Omondi shared a screenshot of the blogger’s post and hinted with a caption that suggested the allegations made by the blogger may be true.
“The truth is finally out...Folks I am going back homer (Wadau narudi Nyumbani)🇹🇿🇹🇿🇹🇿🇹🇿...East or West home is best..” he replied to the post.
This has however left Eric Omondi’s followers at crossroads as it has always been known that he was born in 1985 in Kondele, Kisumu County.
Eric Omondi may, however, be joking about his nationality as the allegations come at a time when he has become controversial among the Tanzanians because of his parody videos.
