Addressing the press in Kisumu on Wednesday the youths from North Kisumu Ward Bar A Sub Location said they are just hearing rumours that their MCA has resigned from his ward rep position, adding that he should shun hiding things under the carpet, instead share with the public.

“We have a concern, we have heard that our MCA has resigned and he is going to vie for the speaker’s position but we have not seen the resignation letter,” said the youths.

They asked Oraro to stop doing things behind the curtains, adding that he should go to the media and announce his resignation officially and if not he should avoid contesting for the position.

They also noted that it is not the right time to hold a by-election which they termed as costly, adding that their MCA should avoid resigning and work for the people of North Kisumu Ward who elected him unanimously.

There is much pressure on Kisumu county substantive speaker Oraro ahead of the election which is yet to take place this Friday, given that IEBC Kisumu County Elections manager Patrick Odame said the Kisumu office has not received any resignation letter from North Kisumu Ward representative.
