Renowned television journalist Betty Kyalo has shared a video that has all the hallmarks of an action-packed telenovela trailer.
In the short video, also shared on Twitter by Media Max-owned K24 TV, Betty is seen in a bitter exchange with colleague Franklin Wambugu who plays the role of her father.
The bitter exchange is triggered by a love affair between her and actor Pascal Tokodi.
Betty's 'father' insists on her marrying another man that she is not in love with but she hears none of that.
In another scene, Tokodi and Betty are seen fighting off assailants with the prowess of seasoned Karate experts.
"You will only be married to this man, " an angry Wambugu fires.
"No! Papa!" Betty fires back in protest.
"Couples will take a stand and against all odds, they will triumph, " the trailer's commentator says in a deep baritone as dramatic music plays on the background.
In her tweet, did not reveal much about the trailer only saying that the telenovela would air from Friday, 23.
"Coming to a screen near you this Friday 23rd 9pm. Watch the trailer below. #WeekendWithBetty @K24Tv, " the caption of the video read.
Until Friday 23, viewers looking forward to the telenovela can only engage in speculation
