Ngure says that Kalonzo's move is also a clear indication that he could partner with the ruling party in the 2022 general elections.

In an interview on Monday, Ngure said Kalonzo's declaration of supporting Jubilee government will open doors for him ahead of 2022.

"Kalonzo Musyoka is seeking to strengthen his party and chances of succeeding President Kenyatta in 2022 by agreeing to support his government," said the analyst.

Ngure further said that there are high chances that the former Vice President could partner with the ruling party in 2022.

"As it is now, all indications show that Kalonzo will sign a partnership with top leaders in Jubilee government in 2022," he added.

The analyst further said that Kalonzo is likely to find himself serving in Jubilee government.

"With claims of looming reshuffles in President Kenyatta's Cabinet, chance are high that Kalonzo could earn himself a state job," he added.

There are speculations that Kalonzo could partner with Deputy President William Ruto in 2022.

Two weeks ago a section of Kitui MPs met with DP Ruto. The MPs who attended the meeting, however, say that it was not anchored on 2022 politics as it was reported by some sections of the media.

On Saturday, Kalonzo's party through its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting said that it will work with and support the Jubilee government development agenda.

The party also said that it fully supports the March 9 handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
