Embattled Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino is to be remanded for 7 more days. This comes after he was arraigned on Monday morning where he denied charges of murder.
The outspoken Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) legislator was arrested on Friday last week over a shooting at the B Club in Nairobi.
Witness reports indicate that the MP pulled the trigger that fired a bullet that hit the neck of Felix Orinda, a DJ at the club.
Law enforcement authorities said that they would charge him with attempted murder.
The former student leader had sought to be granted bail as his case continues but Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi ruled that he be held for 7 more days as the bail report is prepared.
Babu Owino has strongly denied the attempted murder charges levelled against him by the prosecution.
