The nomination which has seen six names forwarded to the county assembly for vetting is experiencing opposition from members who have questioned the parameters used.

Led by Central Alego MCA Leonard Oriaro, the members have questioned the governor's intentions, insisting that the county had enough young people who can hold the positions.

"Do we lack young personnel to fit into the positions? Why appoint people who should be retiring," the MCA said on Thursday, according to the Standard.

The MCA termed the list anti-youth and persons living with disabilities, at a time when a local has petitioned against the list whose nominees' ages range between 54 and 78.

Locals have also condemned the governors on grounds that he is out to impress his loyalists, and want him to pick a new team that will consist 'capable performers'.

But in response, the second-term county boss said that the nominees were arrived at through the right procedure.

"The executive advertised for the positions and those who felt qualified had the chance to apply. It's as simple," he said through his Spokesman Jerry Ochieng'.
