Renowned political analyst and lecture Herman Manyora, in his weekly YouTube post,  weighed in on what's likely to happen.

He dedicated the post to the first anniversary since the swearing-in of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Taking back to what happened prior to the swearing in, the analyst said that the election of August 8, 2017, and the annulment of President Uhuru Kenyatta's win were not the turning point in Kenya's political history.

"The first thing that was going to affect this country was the Raila's announcement on 10th October 2017, that he would not be taking part in the repeat elections schedule 26th of that month, " said the analyst.

"The next major event and pronouncements that are already shaping the politics of this country was the Raila swearing in," added the lecturer.

He mentioned that the fact that Raila Odinga was sworn-in in the absence of his co-principals was very critical.

He said the next critical point was on 9th March 2018 when the famous handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga occurred.

Furthermore, he mentioned Labour Day Atwoli's announcement that Uhuru is too young to go anywhere will also shape the narrative of the country.

The next big announcement, he said, will come from President Uhuru that will implicate DP Ruto 2022 Presidency which will be earthshaking and clearly last pronouncements to define Kenya's path.

"In 2022, we are likely to have elections to be a formality and Kenya is likely to be a de facto one-party state for the next many years to come," the analyst concluded.
