Kibera parliamentary hopeful Christon Odhiambo alias Chris Darlin has sought to set records straight regarding his previously close relationship with the Jubilee leadership.
The deejay who is seeking the position on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket was among entertainers who were involved in the Jubilee's 2017 campaigns.
However, he on Tuesday denied being a member of the ruling party at any point, further adding that he never at any point endorsed President Uhuru Kenyatta during the campaigns.
Odhiambo insisted that he was only involved in the campaigns as a person hired to entertain supporters, but never made any endorsements at all and has nothing to do with Jubilee.
"Sikuwa Jubilee, mimi nilikuwa nafanya kazi yangu ya entertainment. Hakuna mahali niliambia watu wapigie Uhuru kura," he said on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha on Tuesday.
This translates to; "I was never in Jubilee, I was only doing my work as an entertainer. I never told anyone to vote for Uhuru."
About his choice of ODM as he seeks to fill the vacancy left by the late Ken Okoth, he noted that he picked the party as he believes that it matches his views and goals.
"Its ODM's pillars that correspond with my mission (Pillars za ODM ndio zinaendana na zile vitu nataka kufanya)," he added.
